There's only one thing about NASCAR that I really really don't get

No, I'm not the biggest auto-racing fan. But there are some aspects of the "sport" that I actually think are pretty fun to watch. First, no person in their right mind could deny that the wrecks are fabulous. And seeing the pit crew frantically work on the cars is pretty good stuff, too.

But what the hell is up with these uniforms?

Commercialization is to be expected. But honestly, these uniforms are almost a legal liability considering they could induce a seizure with their visual overload, bash-you-over-the-head style of advertising.

The Big News This Week From Daytona:
Jeff Gordon Switches From Fritos to Lays!

I guess these guys are getting paid some big bucks, but wouldn't you feel like a tool if this is what you had to wear to work? Folks in other sports make a buttload of money without needing to resort to this.

Three things

1) I am no longer a law student. That's assuming I didn't fail the Commercial Transactions exam that I screwed up last week, of course.

2) After my last exam this morning, I went to the bathroom in an undergrad building and was actually entertained by something scribbled on the wall of the stall:

"Ashlee Simpson STILL kicks ass!   Fuck the media - she was set up."

Definitely, not the usual fare for a stall in the men's room. Kudos to whoever whipped out a Sharpie and put that up. Refreshingly funny compared to the standard gay bashing comments or other crude graffiti you would expect.

3) My move to DC has now become "official." I just took the final step. The final step = sending my change of address info to the Pittsburgh Steelers ticket office.

Only in the Great Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

I can't believe I've been around Clearfield, PA so many times (its in the remote north-central part of the state where I've gone on a number of canoe trips over the years) and never visited this place!

Today's Post-Gazette included a front-page feature about Denny's Beer Barrel Pub's newest monstrosity, the FIFTEEN POUND BURGER:

Holy Cow - that slab of beef looks more like a car tire than a meal

The burger is served with an entire head of lettuce, two whole onions, three tomatoes, 25 slices of cheese, and a cup and a half each of relish, mayo, mustard, and ketchup. Again - why the hell have I not been to this place????

This could have been me chomping down on what I imagine is one of their "normal" 48 or 96 ounce burgers. Anyway, in all seriousness, I guess this whole mega-size thing is pretty disgusting.

Yet I still plan on going the next time I'm in Clearfield!
